Three resources that will help you in running your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) campaign

When you are starting out on working on a SEO campaign, you have to make sure you know what you are doing and do it right, so here at SEO Geek let us help you with a few tips on how you can be a more efficient SEO campaign organizer and how you can spend more time doing your on-site optimizations or off-site link buildings instead of trying to do things that are supposed to be easy fare.

  1. Checking rankings through SEO EdgeWhen i post updates on my Instagram and Facebook wall, friends will ask, what application do you use to get those results, looks like a nice app. This app that i use is called SEO Edge.

SEO Edge is an iOS application that allows you to track rankings of your website through a very easy to use platform. Just enter your website that you are tracking, enter the keywords that you are trying to find out your rankings for, pull down the refresh button and wait for the results to turn up. It also shows you Alexa rankings and also how many links are pointing towards your website (this i am not sure if it is accurate because i am not sure where they get this resource from).

They have a good and clear user interface that makes its very clear cut if you are gaining or losing in ranking. It is also a nice way to show the world how your rankings are doing, are they going up or down, great for Search Engine Optimizers trying to gain business because it does look a little like the stock market charts!

  2. Google AnalyticsYou must be wondering what has Google Analytics got to do with Search Engine Optimization. This free tool provided by Google is probably one of the best ways to track if your campaigns are working or not.

Giving you insights into how much traffic is coming from search engines, but it used to be able to give a clearer view as to the keywords that are coming in but usually for me, when i run campaigns, i don’t do too many at a time, eg. i don’t do Facebook , SEM and SEO together. I will usually focus on one or two, so i am able to test which ones are more effective. In this respect, most of the traffic will usually be from that one source which is SEO.

In this way you will know if it is effective and able to go on with it. But for most businesses, time may not be on their side and therefore might use multiple channels. Google Analytics is very useful in this manner for you to work on where and how this traffic is coming from.

  3. Google Webmaster toolsThe single most effective tool anyone needs to be equipped with if you want to be a good SEO in this world. This is the place where you get your links crawled, check where the links are coming from. Find out which keywords are getting you clicks and also at the same time finding out where are the problems that needs to be solved like 404 links or bad linkages in your website.

Google webmaster tools is intuitive and easy to use and gives you most of the insights you will need to become a good SEO that will help you to get your website ranked. Solve the problems that webmaster tools suggest to you and you are half way there already. Of course you must still know how to do good onsite and offsite SEO work.

Pick this up and you will almost be able to fight the SEO world already.
